Please explain: NYT’s Stephen Holden on “Obsessed”

RT | Hä?, Journalism | Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Quote from Stephen Holden of the NYT in his review of “Obsessed”:

This was the last graph of the review of the movie, which stars Idris Elba, Ali Larter and Beyonce.

Not once did I think of OJ and Nicole Simpson when I saw the trailer for this movie. Holden seemed to have pulled this out of his butt, or maybe he had some repressed issues about the OJ case. I don’t know. But slapping this graph at the end of a review of a movie that just happens to involve an interracial pairing seems “off” to me.

And Idris Elba looks nothing like OJ Simpson.

  1. THANK YOU! Omg, I thought I was going to fall out of my chair after seeing that. And I’m surprised no one else is saying anything. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
