The 50th Law: 50’s book on the way
From Fortune mag: 50 cent and Robert Greene have co-authored The 50th Law, a book on business and self-marketing featuring “Fiddy’s” financial words of wisdom. It’s scheduled to be released in November. Greene on 50:
“He gives a new definition of fearlessness. He is willing to take risks and create his own circumstances. He’s like Talleyrand or Napoleon.”
(snip)
“50’s a marketing genius. I call him the P.T. Barnum of our era. He created an extremely strong and compelling image, and he went as far to the edge as he could go in corporate America with his violence, with his thuggishness – all of which has great marketing power for young males.”
Of course, 50 had to get a dig in while discussing forgoing the traditional business path of artists releasing an album, disappearing and reinventing themselves:
“Other artists, like say, Ja Rule went away and did that. But I stayed consistently in front of the actual audience with new material, generating new interest – and he never made it back.”
By the way Greene wrote The 48 Laws of Power. Wait. We’ve got 1-48 and 50. Where’s 49?
